Alan Salazar

Alan Balthazar was born in the 82nd year of the Age of Illumination and belonged to the 82 second generation of darmians.

His career as an apprentice was unremarkable, for he found it to be an obligation imposed by Darm's rulers. He never felt at home in Darm and ever since he came to learn about Remgast's free society he began to question the indoctrinations forced upon him at the Academy. His defiance towards authority placed him in trouble in more than one occasion, one being an act of defiance towards two Council Supervisors.

He was kind, understanding, and devoted to his friends, especially his best friend Haji, and saw in them the only reason to bear his existence in Darm. He inhabited a residence along with his sentient companions Evander and Hampy, and enjoyed spending Rest Time in his room scouring the Database for any information that would allow him to understand the outside world a little better. He always spoke his mind and allowed feelings to overcome his best judgment every time he made decisions about his future.

His mother Miriam, was born in Remgast and worked for most of her existence as a specialist in the darmian research space station Vanguard. He never had a real or surrogate father, and his mother claims that her ovum was fertilized by a random male gamete when he was conceived.

His greatest wish was to someday be able to travel freely around Artica in search of remnants of his ancestors' past, a wish he never came to fulfill.
